Ellis Meng Meng is a Chinese director and actress. She started her career in Hong Kong as a professional dancer. Later on, she moved to Los Angeles to learn filmmaking and acting. She has made and starred in several short films as well as new media projects. She has been a working actress for a few years and has a major part in an upcoming feature film by American director Vincent Carubia.
Ellis Meng Meng was nominated for Best Actress and Audience Choice Best Actress at the 1st San Francisco Asian Students Microfilm Festival for her performance in Whisper of Butterflies, which became a big hit on Chinese social media and online video sharing websites such as YouKu.

Ellis Meng Meng is an LA based Chinese female director. She was born and raised in Mainland China, then had the opportunity to live in 3 different countries. After completing her undergraduate study at Hong Kong Baptist University in Cinema and Television, she came to US to pursue her dream as a film director at Academy of Art University and Loyola Marymount University. After graduated, she worked as a independent film director and freelance editor.
Ellis' short film Rice was featured in Xi'an International Folk Video Festival and aired on ICN TV. It became an internet sensation in Xi'an where the film was shot. Her latest short films Crépusculeand Hidden Path have won awards such as Best Director, Best Women Filmmaker and Golden Award from Best Filmmaker of the Year, as well as distributed on the biggest short film broadcaster Shorts TV.
Ellis was trained in Chinese traditional dance from the age of 14. Later on she learned hip-hop, jazz funk and went on to become a professional dancer in Hong Kong. After she moved to the US, she trained herself in pole dancing. She has performed in and choreographed for numerous music videos and live events. She has also taken her talent to the stage. Beside performing in musical theater productions, she is also performing as Alexia Yumi around the Los Angeles burlesque world.
